User Accounts

1.1 Introduction

Only authorized users can access the facilities offered by Rainmail Server. These include the "File Server", "Email Server", "Proxy Server", "Fax Server", "Dialin Server", "VPN Server", "VOIP Server" and "Chat Server". When you want to provide any of these facilities to an user, an account corresponding to the user must be created. A user account not only makes sure that the user gets access to the facilities, but also makes sure that unauthorized users are not allowed to access these facilities. Each user account in the computer must have a unique name. A password is associated with every user account. Authorized users need to enter both their account names and passwords to get access to facilities.
