File Server
"Rainmail Server" includes a File Server. Using this facility, all files for your organizations can be stored in a single place for easy access and backup. The storage area created for storing files are reffered to as Shares. Eash share is associated with an unique name. Shares are areas in your system that can be accessed by one or more users in your system. Shares provide an easy, secure and fast way of organizing your data. One can think of shares as virtual directories that are accessible from anywhere in the LAN. Users can connect to the share from anywhere in the LAN (from any machine running Windows 95/98/NT or Mac) and read files in the share or write to files in the share. They can also create and use directories under this share. Shares can be public or private. A public share is accessible to any valid user in the system. A private share is accessible only to users you give access to.
