7.1 Enable/Disable Remote Technical Support

"Rainmail Server" provides a feature whereby problems with the server can be found and fixed remotely. By default, this feature is not enabled as it makes your system less secure. In the event you require immediate technical support, you can enable this feature and give access to our support personnel so that they can fix the problems. Once the problems have been fixed, you can disable this feature and your system will be as secure as before.

To allow support personnel to look for problems, please do the following:

Successful completion of this operation will be intimated by a dialog. If you were required to provide root or other passwords to our technical support personnel for diagnosis, please change the passwords immediately after disabling this feature.

7.2 Get Current Internet IP Address

"Rainmail Intranet Server" connects to the Internet on your behalf and also for sending/receiving mails. When the server connects to Internet, it gets assigned an IP address by your Internet Service provider. This feature helps you find out your current Internet IP Address. This is not to be confused with your internal IP address (which will be static and never changes).

This information will be necessary to provide remote technical support. To find out your current Internet IP address, make sure that you are connected to Internet. If you are not currently connected, run "ping carizen.com" from any of your nodes and it will make your computer dial out and connect to Internet.

Once you are on the Internet, click on "Get Current Internet IP Address" on left hand side and it will be displayed in a dialog. If you are not currently connected to Internet, a notification to that effect will be displayed.
