Domain
The Domain Name System (DNS) helps users to find their way around the Internet. Every computer on the Internet has a unique address just like a telephone number which is a rather complicated string of numbers. It is called its "IP address" (IP stands for "Internet Protocol"). But it is hard to remember everyone's IP address. The DNS makes it easier by allowing a familiar string of letters (the "domain name") to be used instead of the arcane IP address. So for example instead of typing 203.199.212.2, you can type http://www.carizen.com/. It is a "mnemonic" device that makes addresses easier to remember.
Translating the name into the IP address is called "resolving the domain name." The goal of the DNS is for any Internet user any place in the world to reach a specific website IP address by entering its domain name. Domain names are also used for reaching e-mail addresses and for other Internet applications.
The global domain name ("carizen.com" in this case ) will be allocated to your firm when you purchased Rainmail Server and will be listed in the letter you received. Rainmail Server gets installed with a default global domain of "getcloser.net". If the global domain name allocated to your firm is something other than "getcloser.net", the setting must be changed to the global domain name you received in the letter.

This panel helps you change the globaldomain settings for your Server. You will need to change these settings only when the settings in the letter you received do not match the settings you see in the panel. If the global domain names do not match, enter the name of the global domain you received in the letter in the edit box in this panel. Then click on the "Change" button. You will receive a confirmation dialog saying that the setting has been changed.
Users of Rainmail Server can allocate email addresses to all their clients/employees. The email addresses will be of the form username.emaildomainname@globaldomainname. Suppose your email domain name is "icsoft", global domain name is "carizen.com" and there is an user called "priya", the user can receive and send emails using the address priya.icsoft@carizen.com
The email domain name will be allocated to your firm when you purchased Rainmail Server and will be listed in the letter you received. Rainmail Server gets installed with a default email domain of "default" and it must be changed to the email domain you received in the letter during the setup program.

Rainmail Intranet Server allows users to add any number of domains other than the main domain. Rainmail Server gets installed with a default global domain, say "yourdomain.com". Suppose you want to send and receive mails from more than a single domain, our Rainmail Intranet Server helps you to do this.
You can add a domain in addition to your default global domain. If the domain added is "carizen.com", prefix given is "cariz", email id assigned to the user is name@domain.com , then your account name will be "carizname" and the email will be name@domain.com.
